PRESS RELEASE: Supervisor Doug Chaffee to Host 4th District Virtual Job Fair to Connect Our Business Community to Jobseekers
This event will be held in collaboration with Orange County Community Services and Orange County Workforce Development Board
ORANGE COUNTY, CA (April 21, 2021) – Orange County Vice Chairman Doug Chaffee, in partnership with Orange County Workforce Development Board, Orange Community Services, American’s Job Center of California, 4th District Cities and Chambers of Commerce, will host a Virtual Job Fair on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The virtual platform will provide jobseekers greater opportunity to attain successful employment by having access to multiple, high-profile employers, representing a wide range of industries. Employment opportunities range from entry level positions, to high- level corporate and technical career positions. Employers will give a short presentation about their business, accept resumés, interview prospective employees, and possibly hire on the spot!
“We have seen how the pandemic has negatively impacted residents in the 4th District and throughout Orange County with many experiencing unemployment,” said Vice Chairman Doug Chaffee. Orange County Vice Chairman Doug Chaffee represents the Fourth District, which includes the cities of Fullerton, La Habra, Brea, Placentia, and portions of Anaheim and Buena Park. In his first term, Vice Chairman Chaffee has combatted homelessness by supporting the creation of and allocating funding to the Buena Park and Placentia Navigation Centers and during the COVID-19 pandemic, he provided more than $15 million to small businesses in the Fourth District and school Districts in the Fourth District with technology grants to assist students with distance learning during the pandemic.
